Neither solution is good for displaying vertical text. The only proper way is to put text on diagonal at 45° angle

Are you crazy? It can still be optional for conservatives.

Personally, I think beauty/niceness-tweaks like this have the potential to really propel our toy into a much wider audience. Let's not get precious.

My personal dream also includes sample waveforms running down the pattern.

the grouping definition could be a user driven file, either one master file .. or single files per machine, if the user could generate a file with the order or paramaters, perhaps it might possible to rearrange groups, or parameters of machines, where a user might user certain parameters almost always and some parameters almost never - buze could load the parameter order as defined by the user. Also it wouldnt hurt to have the Preset option as a dropdown using some keyboard command

you might notice +mode and +glide are ungrouped, and the lines are there as a quick indicator of which parameter u are going to be tweaking, before you even look at the statusbar for confirmation

when patternview is set at greater scale by a keyboard shortcut... there can be an envelope drawing setting(maybe with a little button that activates it): interpolation.

if you draw in the envelope, the data will be interpolated.

want to make your 1000 ticks envelope in 10 seconds?

and fine tune it at a smaller scale?

buzzchurch searched all pages, i'm sure this can be extended .
buzzmachines so far can be searched for by knowing the name of the developer.. maybe some might have a use for it. drop these into mozila/searchplugins/..
